The Sindh government has sought assistance from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) regarding its Safe City project – a news source reported. A team from the provincial government visited PSCA head office in Lahore on Tuesday. The delegation comprised officials of the home, IT and police departments.
The delegation was given a tour of various PSCA centers including operations and monitoring, emergency, and dispatch control. Briefings were given on advanced traffic management and electronic planning systems.
The PSCA officials gave assurances to extend support to the Karachi Safe City project. A team of PSCA experts will visit Karachi soon. Sindh plans to introduce the project in areas such as Red Zone and Shahrah-e-Faisal. The provincial apex committee has given the approval to this effect.
Bids for the project will be invited from NADRA, Pakistan Army and Chinese firms. The Home Department has been tasked to oversee the bidding process.
